INDICA ~ Simplicity - Clarity - Embodied - Yoga - One Core Value Dharmic Pluralism
Our Vision, Mission, Strategy and Values
- We are an Institute for Indian knowledge systems.
- We envision the well-being of all beings.
- We believe wisdom of Indic heritage fosters health, happiness and harmony for humanity.
- We enable seekers of this wisdom fulfill their potential, passion and purpose.
- Our strategy is multifaceted, multidisciplinary, and multi-horizon.
- We aim to preserve, protect, and promote our textual, experiential, and embodied knowledge traditions and heritage.
The following are the five dimensions of our strategy:
1. Mainstreaming Indian Knowledge Systems
We seek to mainstream Indian Knowledge Systems. Our Centers for specific disciplines conduct research, publish scholarly works, develop curricula, and organize academic conferences, symposiums and workshops. We offer a range of educational opportunities through our certificate and diploma programs. We also run an online magazine/ journal and publish books to disseminate IKS. We aim to bridge the gap between Gurukulams and Universities, Practitioner-Scholars and Academic-Scholars, and Indic and non-Indic knowledge systems.
2. Transformative Learning Experiences
We provide transformative learning experiences that are authentic, immersive, and aesthetically rich. Our offerings cater to a wide variety of seekers, including children, students of IKS, mid-career entrepreneurs and professionals, householders, and elders. We organize a range of events such as talks, roundtables, festivals, workshops, retreats, screenings, concerts, and tours, among others.
3. Faculty Development
We train faculty from various universities, colleges, and institutions, transforming them from teachers into Gurus who embody and transmit the wisdom of Indic Knowledge Systems.
4. Cultural Changemaker Fellowships
We strive to enable seekers to become transdisciplinary thinkers, social entrepreneurs or public leaders with our Cultural Changemaker Fellowship program. We encourage them to use the 'self, selfless, Self' framework, which involves discovering their aptitude and passions, developing an attitude of working for a larger cause, and pursuing an authentic spiritual path.
5. Accelerator Fund
We're deeply committed to supporting seekers and fostering collaboration to build a thriving ecosystem. We believe that no effort with integrity should suffer for lack of financial support. Our accelerator fund is a vital part of this effort, providing grants to support a variety of initiatives, including fees, subscriptions, publishing, promotions, research, travel, events, projects, and more. We also incubate ideas and hive them into independent entites at the appropriate time. Our goal is to create a vibrant community that celebrates and promotes the richness of these traditions.
Our Core Value : Dharmic-Pluralism
We are guided by only one core value for all our actions - Dharmic-Pluralism.
While diversity and inclusion mainly focus on acknowledging and respecting differences, and promoting tolerance and acceptance, pluralism emphasizes active engagement and dialogue.

We are guided by only one core value for all our actions - Dharmic-Pluralism.
While diversity and inclusion mainly focus on acknowledging and respecting differences, and promoting tolerance and acceptance, pluralism emphasizes active engagement and dialogue.
In a pluralistic society, diverse perspectives, values, and practices can coexist, communicate, and collaborate while maintaining their distinctiveness and autonomy.
However pluralism on its own does not fully capture all the other aspects that are essential to our mission. Any effort to advance pluralism should not be a mere intellectual exercise but an embodied one. We believe that pluralism, when qualified with Dharma, becomes a comprehensive core value that includes duty, gratitude, devotion, order, ethics, justice etc and captures the very essence of what we are striving for.
All our actions will therefore be guided to advance Dharmic - Pluralism.
