A Bit Rich...
Asked, Who is the rich man? Epictetus replied: “He who is content.”
Two kinds of happiness.
One is contentment, one is craving.
We always have a choice of our response and attitude.
Worldly happiness is a conditioned reward from our evolutionary program. Competitive materialism rewards of possession, praise, money, drugs, alcohol and sex. It busies the attached mind with craving & anxiety. A shallow and highly addictive dopamine, like craving repetitive sugar hits. It often burns addicts out with stress, worry and crisis. This attached "Happiness" fluctuates wildly and is always predicated on external circumstances being ideal.
Internal unattached happiness is reward from being the flow. It is not dependent on what is happening externally but rather we create, meditate, love and play. These self aware "inner" choices clear the mind and leave us connected in peace, not attached to craving a societal external "success". Intrinsic self knowledge creates a fresh inner space to allow a feeling of satisfaction and contentedness, regardless of any demands and turmoil that may be present externally. This kinship is among all who choose this unity of the heart. We honor and are grateful for Love, harmony, and beauty. From love, not for love.
Please, there are infinite paths, made and unmade.
Please, you may choose to follow the eXpress way, or the road less travelled or no path at all.
Please, ask better questions, knowing full well who is asking.
Please, choose and create your own path discerningly.
And whatever else you may choose, please really know who the fuck is travelling.
All the best.
Hari Om.
