This was the method I used for years as I tried to deal with the obstacles and hardship in my life. I dealt with the stress, overwhelm, heartbreak, and lack of direction in my career by turning to my favorite coping mechanism (porn, drugs, booze, etc).
But what does this do?
It feeds the insecurities, doubts, and anxiety while adding more stress and confusion to the mix.
Let me be clear. It didn’t work. And it likely hasn’t for you or the men you know.
The truth is that too many men have traded their sovereignty, self-determination, and masculinity for comfort and validation.
What I’ve learned about men is that we want to live with a deep sense of purpose, have integrity, and love the people around us, but haven’t been taught how to do this. We want to be competent and confident but often feel stuck and directionless.
That’s what Men’s Work is all about.
