Fire, fire. toil and trouble
we protect them from "The Burnies"
we teach them of The Heat
we keep our babies, kids and tweens, safe,
away from matches, scalds,
and bath time boiling feet.

But somethings so obvious as digital addicts
something more insidious and feral than heat
Are dished daily diets of babysitting screens,
The SIMs, The WOW and The COD,
this blood lust and carnage as "games"
The Bonfire of TVDVDNETFLIXCABLE
unfettered oceans of cellular connection
a world wide web in Their Pocket;
unregulated untaught uncaring,
Shopping Buy parents? Dross? Gross?
Or Not?


Fire breathing socmed dragons
as we invite burnt out app patterns
Hotter stem cells and crispy tender brains
as continuous partial attention
fractures pathways, fries eyes and
Creates Unpresenced Monsters
with Notre Damned hunches
As we moan about warming Our Planet
when we happily Fry Our Youths Brains

What opens inside you when you're willing to entertain the possibility that things maybe different than you thought they were is what I call the great internal space; a place where you come to know that you don't know. This is really the entry point into the end of suffering: when you become conscious of the fact that you really don't know. I mean that you don't really know anything - that you really don't understand the world, you don't really understand each other, and you ... really don't understand yourself. This is such an obvious thing when we really take a moment and look around. When you look at the world that human beings have created and how we relate to each other, it's so obvious that we don't know anything at all. .
