The Voice, The Words, Let Truth Flow.
The moment a victim speaks publicly after holding in a traumatic truth over time, for whatever reason, they risk entering an arena of societal judgement and questioning.
Why have you been silent?
How did this situation serve you?
What kind of person are you?
...
If you have somehow been managing to exist under the yoke of intimidation brought on by someone's attacking words, threats or abusive behavior, and one day step out into the light of admission, you are being a responsible person who can no longer hold the weight of another's wrong-doing so maliciously forced upon you.
You were violated when you were vulnerable.
You then had to negotiate the subsequent internal aftermath and carry on privately, having little outside support with a great deal of uncertainty and fear bottled up within.
You had to survive.
And so, empowerment's first step is to listen
to your own voice and allow your truth
its rightful expression.

When you remain in your own authentic rhythm and peace
you can exist and thrive as both a strong
and tender thing simultaneously.
Like poetry. Or plants. Or breath,
moving through the body.
This is where your power lives."
