How Carrie-Anne Moss
Stepped Out of Her Comfort Zone
BEING A MOTHER HAS TAUGHT ME SO MUCH ABOUT MYSELF.
by Carrie Anne Moss
1. Be delighted with them just the way they are.
Even with patterns of withdrawal,
isolation and addiction to electronics.2. Work on personal grief/anger/sadness
(connected to teen)
so we become less prone to leaking
these emotions onto them.3. Remember all is well and your connection
is not lost. You have not lost your teen.4. Make yourself available to your teen
and patiently wait for them.5. Go to them.
Don’t expect them to come to you6. Show no judgment.
Don’t Fake enthusiasm. BE REAL.7. Remember your teen wants you.8. Loving limits firmly set.
Drawing limits will never make you lose your child.9. Do not make your children reassure you.
It is not their job.10. Having healthy mentors/friends
who have crossed thresholds ahead of you
of raising children is very helpful and reassuring.
Sending all you brave mamas so much love."
