From finance to social networking to philanthropy,
these code-driven, community-governed entities
are changing the way we work.
Yet these organizations also confront challenges of
cybersecurity, governance, and regulatory uncertainty.

The Crypto Impact and Sustainability Accelerator and
Wharton Blockchain and Digital Asset Project
have teamed up with an international group of crypto experts,
civil society leaders, and builders
to examine this nascent, but critical, emerging form.

"Can Crypto Be Green AND Secure?"
In Partnership with Hedera
While Proof-of-Work (PoW) is a widely used consensus protocol
it has developed a stigma around its energy consumption,
and whether it truly is efficient in use.
However, even though other consensus mechanisms like Proof-of-Stake (PoS)
use significantly less energy, the security risks associated with the consensus protocol
beg the question ‘can crypto be green and secure?’

Join us as Hedera shares insights on how their use cases have achieved security
while upholding the green aspects of PoS.

Speakers:
Brett McDowell, Chairman, Hedera Hashgraph
Wes Geisenberger, VP for Sustainability & ESG, HBAR Foundation
Kamal Youssefi, President of the Board, The Hashgraph Association
Moderator: Anastasia Kinsky, Head of Programmes & Content, GBBC Digital Finance
